It Could Happen To You

It Could Happen To You By Johnny Burke & Jimmy Van Heusen. Another swingy Jazz standard this time played on Flute, This song was introduced in a film from the forties called And The Angel Sings and has been recorded by many Jazz greats such as Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins


Autumn In New York

A wonderful Jazz standard composed in 1934 by Vernon Duke and played by countless jazz musicians and sung by greats like Billy Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. In this recording with strings I used the Akai MIDI controller hooked up to an external analogue synth to produce the trumpet.


My Favorite Things

Introduced in the film by the same name in 1965 has since gone on to become a Jazz standard. The first section of the melody has the distinctive property of using only the notes 1, 2, and 5 (Do, Re, and Sol) of the scale. Rodgers then harmonized this same section of the melody differently in different stanzas, using a series of minor triads one time and major triads the next. I played this great swingy version on the Akai EWI 4000s


My Funny Valentine

This is another track from my demo CD and is a very beautiful old Jazz standard treated in a slightly different way. On this recording, I used the Akai EWI 4000s with an on-board patch to play the melody and solo.


September In The Rain

September In The Rain by Harry Warren and Al Dubin was first published in 1937. This song was introduced in the film Melody For Two and has been recorded by many famous artists such as Dinah Washington, Diane Schuur, and Norah Jones amongst others. I used the Akai MIDI controller hooked up to an external analogue synth to produce emulate an Acordion.


Lover

Lover by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rogers. A wonderful up tempo version of this Jazz Standard that really swings. I played this on the Akai EWI 4000s using a patch that I created. Check Out the wonderful Choppy piano chords.

I Remember You

A very pretty melody and popular song which has entered the repertoire of Jazz standards, this time played on flute and taken from a short version on my demo CD.
